Benjamin Netanyahu lambasted the UN for it's "obsessive bias" against Israel and called the General Assembly a "disgrace" for passing twenty resolutions against them in the past year alone and only three against all other countries of the World combined. That in itself speaks volumes about Israel's total disregard for International Law. Israel has defied all the resolutions issued by the Security Council to curtail it's illegal practices and ignored the frequent demands to improve the living conditions of Palestinian refugees.
Israel's response was to impose a crippling land, sea and air blockade of the Gaza Strip which is now in it's tenth year and a violation of the Geneva Convention. Netanyahu calls the UN Human Rights Council a "joke" for it's condemnation of Israel, year after year... and lauds the rights of Israeli women in various fields of endeavour, all of which are denied to the Arab population of Gaza, where the unemployment rate is the highest in the world and a normal life is no longer viable, due to the collective punishment of the siege.
Netanyahu scoffed at UNESCO, the UN body charged with preserving world heritage, for denying "the 4,000 year connection between the Jewish people and its holiest site, the Temple Mount." In the next breath, he mocked President Abbas for preparing a lawsuit against Britain for the 1917 Balfour Declaration saying, "That’s almost 100 years ago – talk about being stuck in the past!" Precisely, and the Temple Mount is now the site of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and Israel's claim to it ceased almost 2,000 years ago. Get over it!
He claims attitudes are changing towards Israel "in Asia, in Africa, in Latin America, more and more nations see Israel as a potential partner." Then why on the International Day of Peace, did Bolivian President Evo Morales condemn the imperialist and warmongering policies of Israel as "one of the most barbaric examples in the world" and vigorously condemned Israeli attacks on Palestinian civilians saying, "We have to stop the genocide against the Palestinians." Venezuela is also in solidarity with Palestine and Hugo Chavez, the former President, was a fierce critic of Israel and described the plight of Palestinians as a "Holocaust."
Still, governments are changing their attitudes towards Israel, insists Bibi, "because they know that Israel can help them protect their peoples, can help them feed them, can help them better their lives." Like in the West Bank... where residents are forced from their homes to live in tents without access to clean water and where poverty and malnutrition among the Bedouin exceeds that of Gazans? He boasts about Israel leading the world in recycling 90% of it's wastewater, asking, "How remarkable is that?" Very, since it is only for the "chosen few."
Netanyahu accused the UN of becoming a "moral farce" rather than a moral force, but Israel's moral standards on the battlefield are quite unique. The IDF's Chief Rabbi, Colonel Eyal Qarim permits raping "attractive Gentile women" in war as a way to boost morale and Chabad-Lubavitch Rabbi Manis Friedman believes, "The only way to fight a moral war is the Jewish way: Destroy their holy sites. Kill men, women and children and cattle."
Rabbi Yitzhak Shapira says, "There is justification for killing babies if it is clear that they will grow up to harm us, and in such a situation they may be harmed deliberately, and not only during combat with adults." He also advocates committing "cruel deeds to create the proper balance of terror" and treating all members of an "enemy nation" as targets for retaliation, even if they are not directly participating in hostile activities. Living by these Torah values, according to the Rabbi's, will make the Jews a "Light unto the World."
Netanyahu uses the threat of ISIS and Iran, our "common enemies" to rally the nations into recognising Israel as an ally. He is confident that the day is coming when all countries will "get the message" from their leaders that "the war against Israel at the UN is over." One can only wonder at the atrocity Mossad has planned to accomplish this "revolution in Israel’s standing among the nations." Bibi said: "Given its history of hostility towards Israel, does anyone really believe that Israel will let the UN determine our security and our vital national interests?" Adding defiantly; "We will not accept any attempt by the UN to dictate terms to Israel" - who is a law unto itself.
He ended his speech with a verbal onslaught against "Militant Islam" which he calls "the enemy of peace" and ranted: "We must fight them relentlessly. We must fight them in the real world. We must fight them in the virtual world. We must dismantle their networks, disrupt their funding, discredit their ideology." However, "The greatest threat to my country, to our region, and ultimately to our world remains the militant Islamic regime of Iran" which Bibi claims openly seeks Israel’s annihilation. He asserts,"It threatens countries across the Middle East and it sponsors terror worldwide." The Zionist Coalition made the same case against Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and Syria... before annihilating them.
Benjamin Netanyahu concludes, "The future belongs to those who innovate and this is why the future belongs to countries like Israel. Israel wants to be your partner in seizing that future, so I call on all of you: Cooperate with Israel, embrace Israel, dream with Israel. Dream of the future that we can build together, a future of breathtaking progress, a future of security, prosperity and peace, a future of hope for all humanity, a future where even at the UN, even in this hall, Israel will finally, inevitably, take its rightful place among the nations."
It is his duplicity and hypocrisy that is breathtaking! Chutzpah! Lift the inhuman blockade of Palestine, stop the illegal settlements and occupation, remove the degrading checkpoints and dismantle the obscene wall. Cease the military bombardments of Gaza and pay reparations for the destruction of their land. Desist from international espionage and human trafficking, narcotics and arms dealing, and organ theft. Restore dignity to the Palestinians and the right of return for refugees and then perhaps Israel can take it's place among the civilized nations of the World and there will no longer be a need for UN resolutions against this Pariah State.
